Internet is a very good instrument to comunicate and to know a lot of topics, in simple or specialist manner. There are a lot of web sites on pharmacological and medical subjects but it is necessary to spend a lot of time to find an or more interesting sites for you. Moreover even though public, not every site is easily reachable. This led us to create this page dedicated to cardiovascular section. We have looked for a group of sites where you can fast find information on cardiovascular subject. We think that this is very profitable for people who don't work on this sector but who want take some information. Moreover also for people who work on this sector this site could be very interesting and helpful because in the future there will be a periodic update and everyone can take part with signalling and advice.

 

 

AHealthyMe! AhealthyMe! is a web site that treats about health at 360° linking it to many topics of daily life, of men, of women and of babies… from the sport to work, from pregnancy to nutrition. There is a section called "Ills & Conditions" where a very large capitol is dedicated to cardiovascular diseases and to all possible relationships existing in the life of a personl. All is presented in very simple way making very very easy the research of the possible information. There is also a search engine very helpful for a more specific search, and there is the possibility to receive lot of information about drugs utilised in cardiovascular diseases… VERY HELPFUL!!!!!!
American Heart Association American Heart Association offers a great mass of information on cardiovascular diseases, on their prevention, on their therapy… and much more. Information may be general for generic public, but also professional, for physicians and scientists working on cardiovascular diseases… see journals on line of AHA.
American College of Cardiology This web site is very specialist. Cardiologists make it for cardiologists. The aim of this site is to provide tools to make optimal the prevention and the care of cardiovascular disease but to know more... click on the link.
A.N.M.C.O. (Associazione Nazionale Medici Cardiologi Ospedalieri) The web site of Italian Association of Hospital Cardiologists offers much information on activities, on studies and on projects of this association. Besides there are also many pages with general information about cardiovascular diseases and very nice tests to estimate your knowledge on various topics. It is possible to download many documents… the only limit is Italian language.

In this web site much information is available on cardiac surgery. The site contains scientific information, simple, but exhaustive, explications of cardiac surgery procedures, information about meeting, some helpful links and a special service called “prontocuore”.
Cardionet In this web site you can find a lot of information and of news regarding cardiology and neighbourhood. There are two main sections, one public and another professional. This site is very helpful for generic public and for people working in medical field, because it offers various interesting e-services.
Cardiosource: clinical trials This site contains a lot of information on cardiovascular field, such as main guidelines and link to medical and cardiovascular journals. Here we want to highlight the section on “clinical trials” because is very comprehensive and there is the possibility to search information about all cardiovascular clinical trials published, but also ongoing and not published ones… besides the search is very easy!
ECG Library What’s the clinical test most common to investigate the heart? …electrocardiogram (ECG)! This web site is entirely dedicated to ECG. There are all cardiovascular diseases illustrated by ECG with explication to make a diagnosis. This site is very professional but there is also a general interesting topic: the ECG history.
Echo By Web "Echo by web" is a very specific site of echocardiography. There are echocardiography atlas, both transthoracic and transesophageal, a lot of images and examples of echocardiography examination about normal and pathology anatomy. In the section "formulation and calculation" you can find explanation about echocardiography tecnique and its interpretation; Some pages are in construction but it is a very interesting and necessary site if you want know something about echocardiography.

Einthoven This is a very big web site where you can find much information about cardiac diseases, antiarrhythmic drugs and developments in cardiac medicine. There is a very interesting section dedicated to "The Sicilian Gambit", an opening move, able to provide a scientific basis for the consideration of the antiarrhythmic drugs. Very helpful is the service Pharmalert, a space dedicated to pharmaco-surveillance with information about pharmaceutical substances. You can also send your scientific results and in this way take part of this site.
European Society of Cardiology This web site is the mirror of cardiac diseases in Europe, but not only. The site is of course usable by specialists, working on cardiac diseases, to obtain information and much more. There is also a section entitled “public information” devote to make simplex medical language, to give simple information about cardiovascular diseases and their prevention.
QT-Drugs This is the web site of “International Registry for Drug-Induced Arrhythmia”. It’s a site of pharmacosurveillance that receives and gives information about drug-induced arrhythmia. By visiting the site is possible to report a case of drug-induced arrhythmia but also, more hopefully, to consult the list of drugs that can generate arrhythmia.

“The Franklin Institute on line” dedicates to cardiovascular apparatus one of its sections. The main aim is to provide easily accessible up-to-date information. In these pages you can find a lot of information on the anatomy, and the physiology of the heart and also on clinical tests to investigate the heart function… but also files (audio and video) very interesting.
theheart.org It is a very young site but also very specialist. If you want to be updated on cardiovascular sector and on its possible relationship with all others medical fields you have to see theheart.org. To have access at 98% of site contents you have to register… available cybersession and much more!

In this site you can find a lot of information on the heart, on its development from fetal age to adult one, on its anatomy, on its function, on its pathology. You can also find explanations on cardiac and hemodynamic physiology. Finally in this site there are explanations on diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. All is represented also by pictures. You can buy the CD-Rom with all information that you find in this site… and much more!
World Health Organization: cardiovascular diseases This web page represents the section that the “World Health Organisation” (WHO) dedicates to cardiovascular diseases. On this page you can find information on WHO activities, projects and guidelines referred to cardiovascular diseases.
